About Dan
Meet Dan & his family
I am a new face to local government, not a few face to town. As a Marblehead native, who returned to raise my family in 2013, I love this town and am committed to its future.
As a select person, I’m ready to lead with a:
Strong financial skill set
Fresh perspective
Willingness to listen to different points of view
Commitment to meeting challenges head-on
About Dan
B.A. in economics at the University of Michigan (1996). Began career as an investment banker at J.P. Morgan in New York City
Owner / Broker MerryFox Realty
Since 2009, I have served the local communities in a variety of ways, including:
President of the board of directors at John Bertram House
Treasurer of the Salem Food Pantry
Mentor through the Big Brothers program
My wife Tina and I enjoy the beaches and waters of Marblehead in the summer with our two young daughters. In the non-summer months, we can frequently be found at youth theater productions at Marblehead Little Theater and North Shore Children’s Theater, at the hockey rink, and participating in local Girl Scout activities.
As a select person, I will be part of a team focused on positive cohesive results.
A strong financial background. I am skilled in understanding and managing budgets and in planning to meet both short-term and long-term financial needs.
A talent for relationship building. Whether I’m bringing parties together in a complex deal or finding pragmatic solutions to challenges, I excel at connecting with people and finding common ground.
A fresh perspective. For many years, Marblehead’s boards and committees have been filled with the same faces and the same ideas. I bring a fresh set of eyes, creativity, and an openness to new approaches to the challenges facing our community.
Marblehead Select Board members must understand the urgency of the challenges faced by our town and be committed to facing those challenges with a willingness to listen and create collaborative, well-considered plans.
We need leaders who are not afraid to ask hard questions and be independent thinkers. Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you I am that person.
